What is Yoga Therapy?

Create balance through posture, breath, and meditation

Yoga Therapy is the personalized application of yoga practices to support specific needs and goals. In a one-on-one setting, physical, emotional, and psychological factors are carefully assessed to design a tailored, therapeutic session.

Widely used to support mental, emotional, and physical steadiness, Yoga Therapy discerns a client’s natural constitution and develops customized practices for both session work and home integration. Each session builds progressively, weaving in dynamic and responsive techniques that support nervous system regulation, cultivate presence, and expand one’s capacity for self-awareness and self-worth.

Yoga Therapy is recognized as a complementary and integrative health approach, implemented in hospitals, wellness centers, schools, and private practices worldwide. Trained within IAYT-accredited standards and part of a national network of integrative care providers, this work aligns with established professional criteria requiring a minimum of two years and 800+ hours to earn the C-IAYT credential.

Ena Rodriguez O’Rourke has developed a trusted cross-referral network with providers in Fort Collins and surrounding communities. This work supports not only healing, but the development of presence, clarity, and aligned performance in one’s life and work—creating space for deeper meaning, insight, and informed action.

SESSIONS

Sessions are 75 minutes:

  • Interview process
  • Personal Intention, yoga sequence and appropriate postures
  • Breathing techniques and final resting pose, Savasana.

Intake sessions are 90 minutes and are required. This helps to clarify client goals and includes physical assessment. Series run of progressive practices is recommended.

Sessions are virtual or on-site.

iRest® Meditation

What is iRest® Yoga Nidra

iRest is a deeply restorative guided meditation practice rooted in the ancient tradition of Yoga Nidra, adapted for the complexity of modern life. It offers a direct, accessible way to reconnect with a steady sense of presence—especially in moments that feel demanding, uncertain, or overwhelming.

In my work, iRest becomes a practical pathway for cultivating emotional regulation, nervous system balance, and a more attuned relationship to your inner experience. Practiced consistently—little and often—it supports the ability to meet life as it is, with greater clarity, resilience, and ease.

Developed by Richard Miller, iRest bridges ancient yogic teachings with contemporary psychology and neuroscience. This integration allows the practice to be bothdeeply intuitive and highly effective across a wide range of needs and environments.

iRest is used globally in healthcare, education, and community settings, and has been recognized by the U.S. Army Surgeon General and the Defense Centers of Excellence for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury as a complementary approach supporting ongoing research in areas such as trauma recovery.

Over time, iRest becomes more than something you “do.” It becomes a reliable inner resource—supporting how you listen, respond, and show up in your life and work.
